China Airlines

China Airlines

China Airlines is an airline based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei, and is the largest airline in Taiwan. China Airlines was founded in 1959. China Airlines operates worldwide scheduled passenger and cargo services from its home base, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, to more than 105 destinations in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. Another important hub is Kaohsiung International Airport.

China Airlines is a member of the alliance SkyTeam. China Airlines operates a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

China Airlines offers 3 classes of service. First Class, Business Class and Economy Class.
First Class features lie-flat sleeper seats. There is a difference between first class seats where on some aircraft the seats feature AVOD and older aircraft don't have AVOD. Business Class features reclining seats which are also different depending on type of aircraft. Economy Class is also different and does not offer as much legroom as one would expect from a major Asian airline.

Our rating:
Advantages of China Airlines are the number of destinations in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Northeast Asia. A well maintained fleet and it's also possible to select a seat and check in online. Not all aircraft have on-board in-flight entertainment with AVOD (Audio Video On Demand).

China Airlines is a an average airline for Asian standards, although China Airlines has friendly staff and offer good on-board service. Seat pitch in economy is comparable with major European airlines.
