Southwest Airlines is an American airline and the largest low-cost airline in the United States. Southwest Airlines has many bases, important airports are Chicago Midway International Airport, Denver International Airport, Houston William P. Hobby Airport, Las vegas McCarran International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Southwest Airlines was founded in 1967 and operates scheduled passenger services to 77 destinations in the United States. Southwest Airlines flies in a point to point model rather than the more traditional airline hub and spoke model where the passengers have to change aircraft in transit at a major airport. Southwest also flies to secondary airports to reduce costs and fees.

Southwest Airlines operates an all Boeing fleet, and is the largest operator of the Boeing 737 worldwide with over 572 of these aircraft in service.

Southwest Airlines only has Economy Class and offer free in-flight non-alcoholic beverages.

Advantages of Southwest Airlines are cheap fares, diversity and quantity of destinations and direct flights to destinations in the United States. The fleet is young and well maintained. It is also possible to select a seat and check in online. Most aircraft offer Wi-Fi internet. There is no in-flight entertainment available.

Southwest Airlines is a good but average airline. No extraordinary performance but a decent airline.
