AirTran Airways is an American low-cost airline. Its main hub is at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Secondary hubs are Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport and Orlando International Airport. AirTran Airways is a subsidiary of Southwest Airlines. AirTran operates nearly 700 daily flights, primarily in the eastern and midwestern United States. AirTran was founded in 1992 and commenced operations in 1993(as ValuJet Airlines).
