Worst Seat Pitch

Airlines with the worst legroom

When flying economy it's important to have enough legroom between you and the seat in front of you. A basic economy class is often booked for a low price and most airlines design the cabin to accomodate as many passengers as possible. The worst seat pitch can be found on charter airlines, holiday airlines and short-haul flights.

The worst seat pitch (28 inches) can be found on the following airlines:

- Spirit Airlines
- Finnair (Boeing 757, holiday flights)
- Monarch (holiday flights)

Although this might be a reason to avoid these flights, remember that there are too many airlines offering a seat pitch of only 29 inches. Examples are Ryanair, Easyjet and your local charter airline mostly using the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320. This is fine for a 2 hour flight but when the flight is longer a taller person is likely to have a very uncomfortable trip.

A comfortable seat pitch would be starting from 31 inches but this means less seats in an aircraft and thus higher prices.
